Fed: Abbott says Martin decision a lack of confidence in Crean
CAIRNS, Aug 13 AAP - Federal Labor frontbencher Stephen Martin's resignation was avote of no confidence in Opposition Leader Simon Crean, Workplace Relations Minister TonyAbbott said today.
Mr Abbott said Mr Martin was effectively arguing for party reform.
"He's seen the reform package that Simon Crean has endorsed and he immediately quit,"
Mr Abbott told reporters in Cairns.
"It's a pretty big vote of no confidence in Simon Crean."
Mr Abbott said politicians signed up for a three-year term when elected and it wasa pity Mr Martin had resigned.
