NT: US servicemen being held in Darwin on rape charges
DARWIN, Feb 8 AAP - The US Navy has promised to cooperate with Australian police over
the charging of three US servicemen accused of raping two women found semi-conscious in
a Darwin apartment.
Darwin police said the men, aged 20, 21 and 22, were today being held in the Darwin
watchhouse after being charged yesterday with rape.
Police said a 26-year-old woman had told them that she and her 23-year-old sister had
gone with two US servicemen to a Darwin apartment where they were sexually assaulted early
yesterday morning.
